Thanks everyone!  I really like working with the yellowheart, it is easy as heck to carve on, really pretty and seems to be great in compression.  If any of you have never tried it I highly suggest it as a bow wood.  :)

I also found Yellowheart to be dense and great in compression. I glued in just a little reflex, hoping that it would end up with just a little string follow. But it kept almost all the reflex, even after shooting! Despite my best efforts to 'induce' some set during tiillering.

thanks Cowboy and NTprof!

I have found the compression qualities to vary from board to board though. Seems the yellow-er it is the better it is in compression, maybe it is more dense?  Either way it is a great bow wood and you should expect to see many more of these yellowheart bows from me.  (I got a pretty good bit left LOL.  ;D )

Thanks Cameroo!  I have used purple heart and yellow heart together with great success I made a trilam R/D bow out of them backed with bamboo that is still my fastest shooter.  Use the Purple heart as your core and make it really THIN.   :)  It works great and is very pretty together too.

Good looking bow. Nice and clean with attention to detail. I like the looks of the yellowheart too.
