Maple bow for my sons teacher

My son requested a bow for a teacher that really impressed him, it was the young teachers first year and my sons last year at that school. It will be given to him at years end. My son brought in a knapped stone head that I did and showed his teacher, during the conversation my son told him that I also made traditional wood bows. He expressed an interest in owning one and that brings us to the bow at hand.
Maple, 62" long, 48# @ 26", bloodwood tip overlays, only tru-oil over the belly, the back is painted with a Northern pike and deer tracks, My son said the teacher was interested in hunting and fishing. It has natural leather stitched handle with leather rest and fur strike plate. I think its a little stiff out of the fade on upper limb but I'm still pleased with it. Shoots swift and quiet. All that's left is to serve the string and have my son present it.
Hope you all find it pleasing. VB

Impressive artwork. The tiller is great and I am sure the teacher will love the gift. I'm glad your son is doing his part to share the world of primitive archery. Maybe you could post a picture of your son presenting the bow and the teacher with the bow. Justin

Wow, what a cool bow. I love the artwork - I used to fish for pike a lot where I grew up.

Beautiful bow VB. Looking at the full draw and unbraced profile tells it all!!! Your son must be a pretty cool kid. The acorn doesn't fall too far from the tree!

Don't know which is more impressive - the tiller or the art work. Both are very nice. I taught for 33 years but nobody gave me such a nice gift. Got you bookmarked for May Self Bow of the Month.

Looks like a very well made bow with some of the best artwork I've seen on a bow.

Good looking bow, like the artwork too. Did you have to "pike" it because it came in light?
Sorry-couldn't resist.....
