Drive-by Truckers (Alt-country-rock.) Maylene and the Sons of Disaster (Southern Swamp metal.) That'll keep you busy for awhile.

That was some good good ol' down and dirty stuff, I like it.

Tim, I've been a Dropkick Murphy's fan for a while now.  That's one show I really want to go to, I've even got the kilt!

Thanks for all the other suggestions everybody, and keep 'em coming if you've got any more.  I'll sit down and check them all out when I get some time.  For any of you fellow metal heads some of the ones I'd suggest are Down, Mastadon,  and Clutch but I wouldn't really consider those underground.  Some others I like that I would consider more underground are Sasquatch, Arson Anthem, Southern Flame, and Sixty Watt Shaman.

One metal band that I recently started listening to is Accept.  They're not really underground, but not mainstream either.  They have a new album out, Blood of the Nations, that I think is pretty good.  The (new) singer has vocals that I think rival the likes of Rob Halford.  If you miss the old school type of metal with 3 guitar players lined up head banging in unison, check this video out.  From about 2:30 to 3:00 will give you a pretty good demo of his vocal chops :)

Yep, Chad has some great stuff recorded, great songwriter, great voice. Not to mention he's a helluva guy to sit and play guitars with 'til 5:30 AM in the middle of an epic flood. :D
