"the one thing i cant do very well, is make bows"

Thats a big bunch of bs aero. I've seen a couple great bows you've made on here. My favorite style in fact.
"The way of heaven is like the bending of a bow-
the upper part is pressed down,
the lower part is raised up,
the part that has too much is reduced,
the part that has too little is increased."

Half Eye
I think that it is perfect that you started this thread. You sent me a couple of bows, one finished that i posted with all congrats to you, and one unfinished. Both high quality. I'm not sure, but I believe you were seeing the frustration that I was going through in my posts. You sent me a PM and not much later...a couple of fine sticks in the mail. You put be back on track. Not to mention the wealth of knowledge (don't want to hear any modesty now) I gleaned from our conversations.
What i am trying to say is that you and many others on this site have been very patient and gracious to so many of us newbies....We know who we are ;D ::) ;D.

Anyway, THANKS to all! PA, and it's members, are the best!

I'd be interested in the bow swap. I'm in one on TradGang now. The trick is giving enough time for folks to fit it in to their lives. On TradGang we have from January until July 9. Plenty of time to screw one up and still get her done.  ;D
Rich, I am amazed at the good bowyers that are out and about these days. You can hardly swing a stave without hitting one.  ::)  The quality of the bows, and bows from newbies, is incredible!  When I started building wood bows the occasional article in Field & Stream or Bow Hunting and later Traditional Bowhunter that got the juices flowing. Then I found Jay Massey's The Bowyers Craft and the fire was lit.I remember getting excited about an ad in Traditional Bowhunter for an upstart magazine called "The Primitive Archer". I sent a check for a subscription that day. It was months before the premiere edition came out but I knew I wanted to get involved. I still have, and reread every one.  The history of todays archery through Primitive Archer's eyes is a capsulation of some pretty dramatic changes in archery...and all of us are a part of it!!! 8)

There is a new thread "Primitive Archer Bow Trade" and there is discussion on the date and other questions going on there.
