pellet stove "heat gun"
« on: January 29, 2011, 01:55:39 pm »
Wanted to flip the tips a little on a stave today, but had a ton of stuff to do in the basement. So I oiled up an end, sat the stave on a stool, so the last foot or so was directly in front of the vent of my small pellet stove. I could check it frequently and it did not scorch, but got close to bending temp slowly and steadily. I broke out the heat gun for a quick few minutes to finish it off, though. I think if it was colder and I had it cranking, it would do the job easily by itself. Wanted to post pics , but the camera battery was dead due to unauthorized offspring use.

Great idea, and just another reason I need a wood stove in the shop.

Had not thought of using the pellet stove for that. That is what I heat the shop with now. Great idea.
