Girly knife...
« on: January 08, 2011, 03:55:39 pm »

Well, since pink has been en vogue so much lately I now made a pink handled knife; waterbuffalo, leather, pink ivory, linseed oil finish.

Pink ivory is REALLY hard stuff; if I ever find a piece long enough I'll give it a try as bow wood!

Does it come from an ephelump that is "light in the loafers", or was it one that NTD shot?
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

I don't know about that pink stuff, but that's a heck of a knife, Frank. :)

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Thanks guys!
...Oxblood... of course!
The knife is for Sabrina, you have seen her pulling some of my lighter bows for full draw pics. Will make a sheath and post it later.

Hi Frank,

Good idea and nice job!  My other half's birthday will be coming up in a few months.....so perhaps I can use your inspiration.  I take it that the pink ivory is a kind of wood?  I've never seen or heard of that before, but it makes for a nice handle.  Do you have any other name for the material?

Thanks Bob.
Yes PI is a wood, I used it for handle riser on a bow back in September, too.

Ah yes, I must have missed that one.  Nice job on the bow, and the wood is very interesting.
