Has anyone ever tried to work with Brazilian peppercorn?
I just cut me some nice looking recurve pieces for splicing . The wood seems fit to use.

Sheesh if it's any good then I'll be ecstatic.  Only thing I've done is to play around with it for shafting but it didn't fare so well.  What was the diameter of the bush you cut?  Must have been a big one.
I've been playing around with Australian Pine and I'm recommending it.  It dries quickly and produces a snappy bow.  Plus, there is plenty of it around in Florida and no one will care if you cut it!

Parnell,
           I just read your Aussie pine blog. I found an ol stand near a sight I'm workin at on the Saint John's
up here in Sanford. Yeah some are real thick and real nice reflex in it as well. Probobly 6-8 inches thick. I'll cut some soon,
also some with nice back curve and also good length about 6-7'long.Also got some nice Cedar, Mulberry,Elm and Bamboo,

Nice, I would love to cut some of those woods, myself.  We don't get those this far south. 
The Casuarina (A. Pine) can get you working much more quickly!
