Good grief, those tines are thicker than most of the bases I see around here!  That's an awesome deer, man.  Huge congrats.

Thanks for all the kind words guys.I got him about two miles from home here in southeastern ohio. He came by my stand at 8:57am. He was headed to go by just out of range so i started praying real hard. At the last second he turned to come thru a shooting lane that was only about 18 inches wide at around 22 yards out.I was afraid he would spook if i tried to get him to stop so i shot while he was walking. The arrow hit farther back than i wanted and real low. After he ran off i waited a few minutes then left the woods to get my brother. Since i wasnt sure ofthe hit we waited 2 hours to go look for the blood trail. We looked from where i shot him at to just past where i saw him last, but never found any blood, just the back half of my shaft.Since we couldnt determine how bad he was hit we decided to give him more time before looking further.Iwent back around 4pm and started searching where i thought he might go.around 4:30 pm i jumped him out from behind a log about 400 yards from where i shot him. He went uphill ,but was realy struggling.I didnt want to take the chance of loosing him by pushing him farther so i left. The next morning a friend and i went back at 7:30. We found him dead about 8am around 200 yards from where i saw him last. He was still warm and hadnt been dead long. The arrow had went through the lower part of his liver and nicked his stomach. I am still feeling bad about the poor shot and making him suffer. But am happy that i managed to recover him.
