Me and Hunter -Trapper headed to the cabin and packed in Friday night for Saturday,s opener.Clear-upper 30,s-and star filled sky.We had a fire and hit the bedrolls around 9 with coyotes serenading us to sleep.Got woken up with one brave and persistent black bear.He looked quite big in my weak headlamp at 15yards in the dark.He wouldn,t leave so we roped my backpack with all the food up a tree and moved our bedrolls upwind a bit.We hunted all day Saturday-I saw 6(2 non-legal buck within 15yds and few some doe and HT saw 4(1 non legal buck and some does)We have doe tags but no good shots.I had left my bedroll and some stuff(food -toothpaste-etc )along the trail while I hunted a ridge in the evening and when I came out after dark guess who had gotten into my stuff-ole blackie.We hope to find him come bear season.Beautiful weather-time with my son in our north mountains-doesn,t get any better than that.Good luck to all and have a great day.Lloyd
