Lesson learned...
« on: September 06, 2010, 10:21:51 pm »
about setting up trail cams.  i thought i had this one angled just right, but it looks like it was a little too high.  had this one set out for over three weeks and was looking forward to seeing out many pics was on it.  when i checked the number today it only had three pics.  i was not a happy camper because the trail is hot, so what was up?  when i downloaded the card and saw the first pic, i knew i had screwed up and set the angle too high.  at least he was a nice buck.

Nice deer. Looks like a trail coming up from the bottom to the RR bed.

Looks like down close to where I was hunting last year maybe? Is that big white oak dropping yet?

this pic was taken on the property in abbeville i hunt.  i now have a stand hung just to the right behind the big oak.  the trail he's on is a trench worn down into the dirt.  behind the oak is about 30 acres of kudzu that deer eat like candy in the early fall.

That's a nice deer there. My father and i had a camera out on a hot trail on our property. When we went back to check the pictures we found out that someone must have wanted it more that us. What a shame. I guess that will happen when you live three hours away, and only get up once a month. Happy Hunting

Chris-Mine has slow trigger speed and doesnt get a whole lot of pics compared to cheaper cameras(which actually outperform mine tenfold)lesson learned!I've found if you hang em high and aim them down at your subject you get alot less false triggers and better pics of headgear and body size!Seems to work for me may wanna give it a try.
