First Backed Bow
« on: April 10, 2007, 07:57:32 pm »
this bow is white ash with Brazilian cherry backing, 65"ntn. 2"@the fades to 1/2"@the nocks.  54lbs @ 26" of draw.  I recurved the tips for speed and smooth draw.  The tip overlays are bamboo, it's a sweet shooter.

That IS nice.. :)
I didn't think Braz. Cherry would work as backing! ::) I'm currently using it for bellywood backed with Hickory.

an interesting wood combination.  The ash is really holding up well under the jatoba. really cool.

Nice bow! Did you steam in the recurves at floor tiller stage?
