I made this the other day and just finished it today, I made it for a gathering of all the Algonkins in Ontario.  Don't know what the stone is, very white and flakes well and no it is not Johnstone.  Maybe somebody out there knows what it is?   The sheath is brain tanned Deer hide.

I just got lucky Eddie  .  I don't know what type of rock it is but would like to find out.  I got it from an older guy that used to make bows here, he did a bit of knapping also.

The stone is bone white but does become a bit translucent at the tip and at the base.  You can see the line where it changes at the base in this picture
