I had my hatchet bow entry for MOJAM,(ERC btw...), blow at full draw while at the practice range. Big Kaboom and a real attention getter. As I recall there was no damage to me, except to my pride... :(

The plan "B" hackberry bow held up better. :)

I ant sure that I would call it fun, ;) ;D but it will for sure get your attention. I have had a few blow,
sometimes a suprise and sometime I hear that tick and just know what is fixing to happen. Ticks are almost always ,not good. :)

I've only had two really BLOW up on me. One was while stringing after it was tillered and shot about 50 times and the second was just a few weeks ago while I was shooting it in just before I was ready to finish it. both were board bows and both were less than ideal, runoffs and such. the one that blew left me holding an arrow and the handle broke both limbs at the same time. Wish I had a video of it or even pictures to show but I just picked up the longest piece and headed back to the shed to make an atlatl.
It is a bit of a rush when it blows with no little "tick" of a warning!

Three weeks ago my english longbow broke on the tiller wall.
Two weeks ago two children bows broke on the ground tiller.
Last week the handle of my spokeshave breaks.
You see you are not alone.
