some reed hunting arrows (pics)

Here are some pics of my reed hunting arrows.  these arrows are pretty light in weight, but they fly beautifully from my little 40-lb osage bow, and 3 of the 4  arrows that are pictured have actually made kills (small game).  The reed isn't phragmites...it's an imported exotic called giant reed.  It makes GREAT arrows.  Anyway, here are some shots of them.  OOPS....I forgot...the one with the white feathers is actually rivercane, not reed....but it still flies great and its heavier weight makes it hit like a hammer.  All these arrows are tipped with my signature little bird points that have proved deadly in real hunting situations.  Anyway, enjoy....

hey Billy,
     Very nice, and very NA (cant beat them long-low fletchs for hunting)....glad to see ya makin meat. Really adds to the enjoyment of the whole sport. Proof is in the pudding, eh?

Great looking arrows. Looks like fun. You have any pics of the reed in place? would like to see it.
BTW - you shooting them out of that POS bow I gave to david? the one with the coontails on it? he send it to you?

HEy Wade,

No, that POS bow is too powerful for these arrows.....they are only spined for my little 40 pounder.  If I shot them out of your bow they would whip around really bad.  

I haven't been doing ANY hunting or shooting lately....just haven't had time.  I've shot the POS bow a few times, but that was months ago.  I like it!!

yes, goose feathers!  I think they're really pretty...and it makes the arrows fly well too...

i thought goose was a protected species,and the feathers were treated like raptor feathers(also protected)?

i don't know if goose is protected or not.....never seen any literature on the legality of the feathers...

i thought ther was a discussion about that subject over on PP
someone was looking for goose feathers to make a head dress
and someone chimed in about that,myself i am not realy sure
i would use them if i had them,they are nice looking

that's right...they're snow goose.  Kinda look bluish cause of the camera flash.....
