  Lots of history with these bows. I remember reading in the early day of the samurai, this was as important a weapon as the sword. Great to see something different!

True way back when, the samurai were mounted archers and the bow and arrow were the primary weapons that they used.  Swords were not often used from horses because they were short range weapons.

I really like the comparison shot where you overlapped your image with the image of the kyudo guy shooting a yumi. It really shows how you got that tiller spot-on.

WOW........just WOW, I practice Iaido...the art of drawing and cutting with the Nihonto or Japanese Katana....I have always wanted a Yumi....not that I know how to shoot it properly....but always wanted one....let me knwo if you ever decide to make one for sale.

i just split the bamboo in 6 stripes (4.5cm each), no heat treated and made tapper from riser to end of the limbs like 2-3mm starting from 7mm. the core it's made by 6 stripes of bamboo 5X7mm in section.

i love this bow . i have a lot to learn to shoot in japanese style but this bow make my day, I'm very proud of him.
