Just for fun - my son's bows
« on: March 08, 2010, 01:11:31 pm »
Here are a few of the bows my son Caedmon and I made for him (he's just three but likes to scrape wood already!!!). The pictures were a little hard to get because of some birds in the field that just had to" go on our campfire"! The first is a walnut self bow, second a hickory self bow, third a red oak board bow backed with denim. they all pull 5-8 pounds at 12-15 inches.
Enjoy!

Mark, very impressive....the boys AND the bows.  I have been lurking on here the last few weeks planning my first bow.  I think the first one will be for my 11 year old.  By the way I am in Springfield and come through Cabool about every other day or so (on a train).   Have fun!!

Pretty cool. He's going to be a heck of a shot when he turns four.

Thanks for all the kind words guys!
Caedmon loves to shoot and I think he's going to be a natural, unlike his daddy!
It is sure fun to be out with him and see him learn, I wish more dads would do the same. For those who do, you're doing a great thing that will last a lifetime, whether it's archery or just watering your lawn.

Scott - you won't regret making one for your son! (and I moved out of town because of the train noise!!!... just kidding)

You all need to know most of what I learned is from this forum so anything Caedmon knows, in a big way, came from y'all!

God Bless
Mark

Good job on Caedmon's bows. Someday these will be your grandchildren's bows.

excellent form!!  i can't get my 3 yr old to stop trying to rapid fire every arrow.  he thinks the faster he pulls and releases the farther it wil go.   Your boy looks like he will be a great archer in the not too distant future.
