aussie knapper seeks rock!
« on: February 27, 2010, 07:01:07 am »
i spent about 5 hours today turning spalls into flakes with nothing to show for it. >:(  i've made a few arrow points before out of small spalls and now i'm super keen to make a knife. trouble is i don't have any rock big enough. i'm hoping you guys could help me souce some rock. something big enough to spall out myself and get arrow points from the spalls and try and make a knife from the rest. if any one here is willing to sell some that would be great.thanks, clint.

I'd be happy to send you some obsidian if you pay the shipping. I used to live in Oz myself- Goulburn NSW and Wollongong...
Actually, I'd also trade for something home- made - whatchu got?
