1st Bow

This is my first bow. It's 70"n2n  43# @ 27" It's a red oak board bow.Let me know what ya think.

It's burlap backed and have'nt put a leather grip on yet. It shoots smooth and I feal no hand shock

Not bad for a first bow! But, it's a bow with very short limbs and a very long handle. If it was mine, I'd get the fades and inner limbs working quite a bit more. You're robbing yourself of a lot of limb that is not doing any work.

Well done. I agree with adb, the inner limbs could work a tad more, but I actually quite like that shape of tiller myself :) .

I took y'alls advise and went ahead and backed it with burlap (made me feel safer ;) )

adb... I wondered about the inner limbs, but it shot and felt so good, I didn't want to go any farther. Would that have given it more poundage?

Thanks y'all for all the advise and comments. I have another one with a grip and backing glued up and started tillering.

OldBow I don't mind at all. I feel honored even to be mentioned.

Aries...Yup some that I went out and cut. Gonna take some to the Pre Spring Arrow Fling this weekend. Maybe try to trade some for some arrows or a stave or 2. And like you said. "for future bow making endeavors. ;D

Got to agree with Pappy, wish my first one looked that good. Watchin them first few arrows go downrange is real hoot too ;D
