Looks like yall had a lot of fun.  Wish to heck I was coming down next week, but I will be out in Indiana at the farm.  I'm not sure if I'll hunt yet or not.  Work is messing me up and I have alot of honey dues that need done before it gets to cold.  Got buds that well kill me a deer or two so I will only miss the hunt it self but not the best parts.  Hanging out with good friends.
I call a lot of people brother, but only count a few as family.

Pappy, I'll be down on Monday next week. I'm taking my uncle on the handicap hunt at Crane Naval Center.  It will be late morning or early afternoon before I get there. I can't wait.  Eddie, bring your longhandles so you don't freeze :)  It's been under 30 here a couple of nights, so it shouldn't be too bad there. See ya'll in a week.

Already packed them, Dave. Got all my son's stuff he had in Afganistan and Iraq. Sorry you can't make it, Bear, good luck.

Relaxing and productive weekend. Such a treat to see the anticipation on those little faces.

Looks like Will is enjoying that hide... maybe a little too much. :P

Can't wait to see what that arrow does on a deer, Pappy. I don't think it will even know the deer was there. ;D
Just remember, you can't put the wood back on.

Great Dave, see ya in a week, seeyou in a few days Eddie.I agree Alex with all of that. ;) ;D ;D By the way Jesse killed a nice 7 point yesterday evening 14 inch spread and 120 lbs.[Recurve]. Great shot ,I help him find it,only ran 50 yards and piled up.I shot a hen Turkey ,I feel so bad, broke her wing but all I got was 8 secondary feathers. I thought I hit her just right but I guess not. :-\ I tracked her about 100 yards.I may go look today if I can get out early,I figure she will lay up somewhere ,if something don't catch her at night. She can't roost. :(

It has been a good week so far at the cabin,Jesse is hunting on my cousins place and I have been trying to hunt the evenings on my farm.Jesse scored on a nice 7 point Monday and I took a nice 8 yesterday evening. He was 124 lbs. 8 point with a 14 1/2 inch spread,I am not a trophy hunter and anyone that knows me knows that.I do have one gold I set for myself each year, kill a deer with my bow. This marks 30 years in a row with taking at least one deer. The last time I didn't was 1980 man that don't seem that long ago. I killed this one with a sweet little Osage bow Shannon gave me, he named it Pappy, also a hickory arrow/wild turkey feathers and a home made 160 grain trade point. Jesse and Woody helped me track,he ran about 150 yards, didn't leave much of a trail,no exit. :)

Congrats Pappy.  That sure looks wider than 14", but a beautiful rack for sure.

That is a nice deer. Congradulation friend on a long string or meeting your goal. I know what it means to you. I'm glad your time and effort was rewarded.  8)
