Pappy, The white bugs are mites. You see them in them in late summer and fall on beach trees and some fruit trees. They suck the sap out or the tree.

That's a mighty pretty point out of your twin oaks chert!  ;) Had a good time hanging stands, shooting, and petting the dogs Saturday. Can't wait until the weekend and opening day...I still get excited and have trouble sleeping the night before opening day, ...with visions of big bucks walking under my stand... ;D

...and nightmares about Sadie?  ;) ;D

very nice Jesse.  I'll bet that was on the only deer stuck on FT Campbell with a selfbow.  Good on you.  I hope I can get up a tree saturday.  I've got deer fever so bad I can't stand it.  My neck is all swollen up and I'm in full rut.  Can't wait till Sat.

I was leaning toward where you took your big buck last year, and Anthony was leaning toward a pea patch with a good cedar tree stand sight close by. You can have your pick of the remaining stands!  ;D

I know what you mean Bear.  We had flooding in our state, but from Tropical Depression Lowell (What the..... :o).  Everyone was so focused on Ike that a Tropical Storm from the Pacific side came in the back door and dropped a foot of rain on the north central part of the state.
Hope you get back to normal soon.

Across the road in that stand that Anthony hung in the beach tree may be a good morning stand as well as evening. It's on a great travel corridor with the deer traveling the ridge side behind Smiths being funneled into it. They may have started hitting the white oak acorns as well... ;)

This is killing me too.  Where to go that opening morning.  I'm torn between two places so I went out and bought two of those trail cams.  Whichever one produces the best pictures tomorrow will get the vote  ;D
