Got my gear all ready with 2 bows and a new set of arrows all tuned in. Then Saturday morning the deer started coming in. Lots of doe and a few nice bucks over the weekend.

Some nice ones Saturday evening, Annie really enjoyed her first deer season.

Then I got my chance, nice spike at 7 yards, not huge but meat for the freezer, Big A also got a nice 8 point with his recurve, it still had velvet hanging off.

Then for the awards and the feed, we had venison BarB Q and venison sloppy joe, it went well and some great eating.  Hope yall had a good one also and all is safe from the storm. Life is Good.

Thanks, yes a little slow here also, should get better as the weather cools and the rain finely stopped. I have had the crud all week so have not been back out, feeling some better now and probably get back after them by the weekend. Did manage to get mine skinned and boned out, now just need to get it cut up and packaged. May do that tomorrow and then try and hunt some this weekend.

I have been sick for over a week but seems to be better the last couple of days, been no hunting for me  but feeling better just a few dizzy spells now and then but that also seems to be better so I am headed to the cabin this morning for a couple of days, need to get my deer worked up and packaged, been on ice for a week and plan on trying to get out in the woods if the feeling better holds up  , the weather has cooled off so should be some good hunting, see yall in a few days. Life is Good.

I hope you start feeling better Pappy.  Congratulations on the spike.  I took my stepdaughter hunting on youth weekend.  She got mature doe.  Her first deer ever.

 Thanks for the well wishes,Yep feeling better, still can't hear but couldn't hear that well before this happened    tell her Congrats of the deer Clint, nothing like taking a kid out and them getting their first deer, love it.

 Feeling some better so Headed to the cabin this morning for some final clean up to get ready for the Baggett reunion Sunday, this is the last event this year, after this I may get to concentrate on some hunting, still got the youth hunt but that is a very laid back weekend other than tracking and skinning deer. Dave and Conner [Dave's grandson] are coming Wednesday for a few days to bow hunt. always look forward to that, Conner has become quite the killer so we will see how he dose this year. Hope yall have a good one also. Life is Good.

Been a busy few weeks, with the Bash/opening deer season and then the Baggett reunion , been busy. Lots of friends and fellowship for sure, now just maybe back to normal. A few pictures of the fun. The Bash with a lot of good food and friends.

Also burgers and taters, the burgers was left of from the brat making I helped with at Elm hall this fall, man are they good. The taters was from Dave, he always gives me a bunch from his garden and they are well used and much appreciated.  Thanks Rocky and Dave.  Annie is getting her first taste of deer season at the farm. and loving it.
