Had a great weekend, got some stuff done for the Classic and also went to a shoot Saturday morning with some buddies, great time all around.
Beau requested a neck knife after his experience with his new and supposed to be "only knife you need to 1/4 and elk " the Hunters Edge, Well it would be all you need if you got a pack full of the replaceable blades to go with it, :(  had to finish up over half the elk with my neck knife and it would still shave after the job was done. I told him if he would wear and use it I would make him one. ??? Also working on some more blanks for the Classic.

Knife in the works, and old Nickolson flat bastard us file, I gave him a choice of handles, elk antler/turkey leg or deer leg bone, of course he picked the elk antler. Got the knife all shaped/heat treated/tempered and handle glued up. All the staves I am getting ready are requiring a lot of tweaking, nothing new about that. ;) :)

Got the knife ready for sealing and then on to the sheath , I ant much as most know on leather but can manage a simple neck sheath. Got the arrows all fletched for the Classic trophies, now just need to add points, 13 flint heads/13 trade points and 13 field tips,1st 2nd and 3rd. :) Then we headed out to the shoot, I like to mix a little fun in with my work. ;)

Nice of Greg to do a bunch of Strings ! Of all the Bow Making chores, I never liked twisting Strings. Like Beaus Knife - Thanks as always Pappy -  (=) Bob .
"May the Gods give Us the strength to draw the string to the cheek, the arrow to the barb and loose the flying shaft, so long as life may last." Saxon Pope - 1923.

Great weekend, was planning on going to the Trad fest in KY. but the weather changed my mind, had more clean up so decided to spend the weekend at the cabin.Managed to get a few things done in the shop. Got the big hot box fixed, new heater and indoor /outdoor thermometer , we use this a lot through the classic and laid out another knife. ;)
