Finished up Beau's elk feet Bow/gun rack.Got the sheaths made for the 2 neck knives for my cousin and started another neck knife for myself. It has a Turkey leg bone handle.

 Finished up my neck knife and Got my Turkey all worked up and my hide scrapped and sanded and ready to come off the rack.

Made a stand and sheath for my neck knife, Venison steak and tatters for supper, then the kids showed up for the weekend. Great kids for sure.

Lots of stories around the fire Friday night and them headed out Saturday morning, all smiles. Beau and I made brats Saturday while the kids were out.

Christina brought the kids down and Margaret Ann jumped right in there and was very good help. We made 300 brats so a good winter supply.

We also made the kids a big breakfast when they go back from the woods. Then they all took off and wound up at the Spirit station and done some refreshing of it, also played in the creek just doing what kids do.

Got Margaret Ann a bb gun and so it begins , she done pretty well for her first time. I got another Buck hide that was given to me fleshed and ready to rack and the kids cooking dogs over the fire for lunch.

My girls are full and resting. The kids going out for their last evening hunt, they had a shot or 2 but no one killed the first 3 hunts but this evening was different, we moved their blinds and it paid off. the girls both got does, 81 and 82 lbs and the boy got a nice 10 point /174 lbs and was his first deer, guess the smile still tells it all.  It was a great time and some very well mannered and behaved kids. Got to love it. We were in for a long night, we got all 3 skinned/boned and in the cooler before we call it a day, now I need some rest. Headed back down in a few hours for another week or so, going to try and do a little hunting before my buddies get there Thursday and before the muzzle loader come out this Saturday, this is our last week for bow only so things will change when the big guns roll out. wishin I had that much shop time and space!

Ya Ben I try to stay busy, that's what keeps me young. Had a great week with all my  buddies from FL./In./SC. It was warm and deer movement was slow but they all had opportunities and that about all you can ask for. I spent most of the week working on processing deer meat and hides while they hunted. I did hunt a couple of days before they arrived but once they showed up I mostly hung around camp. Here are a few pictures. Had a good friend give me another nice buck so I worked on that the early part of the week.

I got inspired by Ed's deer feet pouch so I skinned a few of them also. I went on hunting Wednesday morning and had a spike come by at 12 yards, made a good shot and seen him make a circle and go down, nothing better than see one down from the stand.

Nice spike, 109 lbs field dressed so some good meat and hide. Eddie Parker showed up and then the fun began.  All that know Eddie know that he is a hoot to hang out with. Dave O also showed up Thursday and he is always fun to be with.

Eddie brought me a large pine knot, great stuff for fire starting,Dave brought his grand son's buck head he killed on the youth hunt and also I had the head from my friends buck so we done euro mounts on both of them. My girls love deer season, they get full of scraps and then just lay around getting fat.
