Got some bow work in also, the one i am working on wasn't going to have enough wood without gluing up a handle because of thin growth rings and some worm holes so I decided to leave the sap wood on the handle and tips and take the limbs down to a good ring. It is going to be a kind of reverse handle bow, looks pretty cool if it works out. Also helped Bucky with the tillering of his new Osage, he is doing good just don't quite have the eye yet and wants to get in a hurry, we all know that don't work most of the time.

Still working on getting the bark off the latest Osage cut, getting there and some good wood and some cool staves coming out of that pile. The last picture I am saving for hole in the bow Chuck when he makes it back to Tennessee.

Brats for lunch Friday and then getting ready for the rabbit hunt Saturday, no one wanted to leave the fire but we finely got going, lots of fun for sure .

Fun watching the dogs work but tough for a shot with a bow, I carried a 20 lb pack along and figured it i didn't get a rabbit at least I work get a work out for my trip to the mountains this fall. We let the guy with the dogs take his gun, he is the only one to kill but we all had our chances, like I said a very fun time with the guys and not to many arrows lost or broke.

This is what happens to a wood floor home made lock on when left in the tree 25 years, found it on our hunt, had forgot all about it, no getting it down now.   Jesse finishing up the big deer hide in the rack. My girls just stayed close to the fire most of the day.

Jon showed up cutting out some knife blanks, he is making some beautiful knives now. But the high light of my day and maybe my year except for my new grand son of course  :)was a 32 flint lock gifted me by Matt, one of the guys in the club and long time friend. He said it was for all I have done for him and his family, he built his first self bow with me at Twinoaks about 20 years ago , I know I don't deserve this but it is very much appreciated. Can't wait to shoot it, It was built by Eric [our Eric] I seen where Eric said their was a big gun show sometime in the last couple of months and he was meeting a guy that wanted one of his guns,What I didn't know was the guy was Matt and the gun was for me, after Eric found out it was for me he gave Matt a bunch of stuff to get me started along with the gun, Thanks Eric, very kind of you !!!!!! Yep Life is Good.
