Tillered Bow

Just got a computer lesson from El Destructo, and am now armed with another bow building tool. I think this is what you meant El Destructo. The tips are reflexed some, and the handle is non-bending, so I tried to place the oval in the best place.

Yes, that is THE tool when the eyes begin to get tired...

I usually take a pic on the tiller tree, flip it sideways on the computer, then lay the circle/elipse on it.

Thats exatly what I do too Frank...that way I can level the Boiw up on the Tiller Stick before I take the Picture...then Flip it in Paint...add the Elipse....Flip it back Horizontal...

That's a good looking bow. And the paint ellipse is definitely a handy trick if the front profile of the bow allows for an elliptical tiller.

I can use this on D-Bows...Hupa Paddle Bows....Mollegabet Bows.....even a Hun Horsebow...it's all in where you lay out the Elipse...you have to lay it out where it follows the Bows Design...and then just use it mainly as a visual Aid in measuring the distance that each Limb is bending in respect to the other...iIt surely isn't limited to just a ELB ...or an North American D Bow...JMO

it can be used on bows with both an ellipticale tiller or circular tiller
it just takes a little practice to get it right,just like making bows ;D

I guess that since I have been asked Numerous Times to do this....I am going to have to do a How - To on This...or Maybe even an Article for the Magazine...to show how to Use it on Most...if Not All Tillered Bows...Only Problem I would have ....I would need some Pictures...and permission to Alter them...I don't have a Bow for every Tiller.......Not Yet anyways....... >:D

I never use it, mostly because I'm lazy :o but also where my tiller tree is the lighting is not conducive to pictures I do
use a tillering gizmo from time to time though which can also tell you if its bending to much or not enough.

Go for it Mike it certainly cant hurt as its another tool in the arsenal, you can use any pictures of mine ya want
especially to demonstrate the uneven tillers ;D
