making wood laminates

I'm poised to begin learning to make laminate bows, and would like to cut my own laminates.  What sort of tools do people use to rip a 2 x 2 board (for instance) into full-length laminates?

I use a bandsaw and then a 40 grit belt on my 2x48 sander to finish the tapers.

For me the ideal setup would be a bandsaw and a thickness sander. Any saw and a sanding board would work.

I use a table saw to rip my boards to close to thickness/width, a bandsaw to cut the front view profile, and my belt sander to get my tapers right for glue-up.  I could probably do it with less tools but that's what i use... ;D  -josh
