pretty girl and her 2 ugly sisters
« on: January 01, 2010, 07:16:20 pm »
well i went downstairs to my little hole of a workshop today and made a few new ones for 2010
the first one was the larger of the three, thats the pretty girl
it is from a slab of obsidion with a cool blue sheen, very nice need to get more of this stuff
then i tried a to make some more from other material and wasnt having any luck so i grabbed some waste flakes from a box of material i got a while back from jesse
these two were actually attempts from a month or so back that didnt work out to well.today was  better day for them too
they have some hinges etc,so they are her ugly sisters, dont know what the material is but i liked both of them.i didnt take pics of their real ugly sides
heres a pic or two
thanks for peeking

That obsidian is pretty ain't it.  I find myself going back to the scrap pile and digging out pieces I threw in there months ago.  I've made several small 2-3" bifaces from stuff I threw away back in the summer. Back then, I just didn't know how to deal with them.  From now on I'll never throw away any rock that might have a point hiding in it.
Be thankfull for all you have, because no matter how bad you think it is...it can always be worse.

Wow, Tim, I would go out with either one of them, even around my Friends, and not feel the least bit ashamed! ;D

thanks for the real kind words everyone
but the sisters are truly ugly,ya just aint seeing their ugly sides(didnt take pics of that, might break the camera) lol
actually the more i look at them, the better looking they get
they both used to be much larger, but had hinges all over
once i knocked them off they lost a little of their uglyness

I doubt that a Deer, would have a chance to examine them, and complain about being killed with an ugly arrow head. ;D
It's function that counts.  Beauty is nice, but function is what is important. ;)
