Lemonwood (degame) grows primarily in Cuba, and is very hard to obtain. If you can get it, it's very strong in compression, and makes great belly wood. Yew? I've traded on this site for it, purchased it from suppliers, and cut some of my own. If you don't live where these woods grow, you either have to buy it, or go to where it grows.

Gilmer Wood in Portland, OR has had it.  Gilmer is across town from where I live.  It isn't cheap.  I believe most of it is sawn into 1.5"x1.5" or 2"x2" blanks.  I am not sure how easy it is to try to take down to a growth ring since the growth rings are almost nonexistant.  In the old days, they didn't even try yet it still worked out fine.

I come upon yew from time to time and Gilmer carries it also from time to time.  It is often sawed into 1/4 logs.  Once in awhile I happen upon people selling large yew logs but I have not used it in bows because the supply is so sporadic.
