acker,that is a great bow and gift...he will love it...i do have a few questions...what is the measurements...and how do you strip cherry bark...do you pull it around the tree or up and down the tree..thanks for sharing and lovely work..john

Very cool bow and nice gift.  I love working with cherry bark. I've done a few in the last few years.
Blacktail, the cherry strips from around the tree so you need a pretty big diameter cherry tree to get suitable backing strips unless you want to splice them and that works too.

Love these truly primitive bows. Any chance of a better full draw? Like stand closer to the camera or zoom to you. and no backlight?
