cherry for core?

I am thinking of trying a composit bow with horn and sinew and was wondering how cherry would work for the core.  I think I've read somewhere that it has the lowest hystersis of any wood and was thinking perhaps it might improve efficiency.  I'd think that a good layer of sinew would take care of cherry's tension problems.  Just curious though, I'd hate to waste money on a bow doomed from the get go.  Thanks for the help!

I've used cherry as a core wood in ELB longbows with good success.

If I were going to invest the time in a bow with horn and sinew, I would not use cherry as a core. Can it be done? probably. Are there better choices? plenty of them.
