NC locals
« on: November 02, 2009, 08:12:03 pm »
Just wanted to see if i could get in touch with knappers in NC and maybe develop my experience or knowledge. some of you live far away in the realm of far away. and the local can be visited or get together easier.

Where you at?  I'm in western NC in the Smokies. There are a bunch of us in NC. We had a knap-in near Burlington a couple months ago.

Progress might have been all right once but it's gone on for far too long.

I live in Winston Salem. Just started knapping for about a year. The rhylote is very hard to knap from what I have learned. Some of the knappers that were in burlington this year said that there is good rhylote and bad.

Any one of you guys want to come for the get together on the 20, 21, 22 let me know and I will get you directions. We are gonna have a pre thanksgiving dinner on Sat. Everything will be cooked outdoors. Deer, turkey, all the fixings.

Wow. Man that sounds good, Nugget! ;D

Kind-of a newbie to the board, Joe Moylan, Wake Forest, NC,
(which is now pretty much North Raleigh)

I was planning on going to a Rock Swap around Lexington, NC on the 21st.
Might have to swing up your way and say Howdy, Nugget. We'll see.
Joe

I'm in Hillsborough & helped Dick put on the Burlington knap-in the past couple of years. TJ, that pre-Thanksgiving throw down sounds great.  I'm going to be out of town, but will be there in spirit. So, when you make stacks on your points or get a few hinge fractures, you'll know where they came from.  Have a great time.
