Just got my broadheads
« on: September 25, 2009, 10:09:30 pm »
I just mounted Zwickey Eskimo broadheads on three of my arrows. (Haven't gotten to knapping yet) I went out and shot 3 shots with each arrow at a Black Hole target at 18 yards. I was able to hit the center wording every time! Shot better with the broadheads than with field points. I feel pretty confident for a deer outing. What do you guys think? I am very new to this bow thing.

Get your heads scary sharp and concentrate on the hair your arrow will hit then take a pic and post it here! ;D

Thanks Woodstick,
I do plan on sharpening them this week. I did get out for about 1 1/2 hrs Sat morning. Saw nothing, but still felt great to be out there with a bow!

Sound good to me,I shot them for years with good success,I just sharpen mine with a flat
bastard file, when I see the wire edge pop up I am ready, use to file;stone then leather but found the wire edge will do the job just fine /stay sharper in the quiver longer and much quicker.About a minute and they are ready. Now all you need is a deer in range. :) Be sure and watch the angle of the deer, broad side or slight quarter is best. :)

Thanks Guys. Pappy, I will try the file. Sounds like the way to go. I just put together a brush blind this morning. Haven't seen a deer the few hours I've been out, but I sure like the feel of bow and quiver. Makes me feel at home.

Recurve,
At least you can clean yourself up when you get back in from the woods (LOL)! Put those arrows to good use. Good luck to you too.
