Well the wife left on her business trip and I didn't get a full draw, I guess I'll try the duct tape tomorrow.
I'm gluing up another one of these right now with a maple core....I can't wait to see how it turns out.

It is very nice bow Ryan.
I really like the design you use, very smart indeed.

Especially I must say use in wood on back of core and core itself.
One thing I learn on ipe is, it so strong it gets very thin, and when it become same thickness as backing, the shear stress break even best glue job.
(can you tell it happen me multiple time?  :)) So, a core will take this stress better than glue I believe.

Is the core tapered as well?

nice bow, youve done a good job. You wont believe this but thats the bow thats been in my mind for 6 months, exactly that design!!!I've made a few boo&ipe bows, and this profile was my conclusion as to how to get the best out of the materials.   Obviously great minds think alike ::)

Well I been waiting for the trophy shot, but what the hey.  It looks swell Ryan.  There are some other tropical hardwoods that do great, massa-sumbin-r-nuther is one I liked.  And there's an off green colored one, starts with a C.  Joe Dawn did a big rash of them, and Wingnut too, a few years back wehn the movie (bbo) was so popular.  As with most woods, the specimen matters too.  Have seen some less than stellar ipe, but most is perty good.

Ryan, thats a nice looking bow, man I wish we had IPE around here, I looked on ebay but it seems expensive to me.
You did a nice job on the handle too.

Very nice arc Ryan.

VB, Actually Ipe is rather inexpensive and its those who pay too much for it then put it on E-bay which make it seem that way..you gotta pm
