new points

heres a few points i did'nt break today. :) raw flint river    heated c.p.  i wasted 2 beautiful f.r. spalls that i shouald'nt have. so i spalled out a bunh more and decided to cook them some.3/bow7006.jpg[/IMG]  had some extra room so added some whitye c.p. to it. pretty fair grade to. now thats a full roaster! and those spalls are at least 6" or more on some. i'll dry for about 15 hrs  then go up to 425 slowly and hold for 8 before i cut it off. shouald have some fine rock to play with when its done.

Nice point. I remember the days of the roaster oven.man I cooked alot of rock in mine.Finally made me a big kiln, and now have have a smaller version,I call it my five gallon kiln. I like them alot better than the roaster.

Lookin forward to the seeing your cooked rock.

There are a couple of web sites that I went off of for mine. I'll try to get some pics and get the links together.Perty simple really.

My first one,(the big boy) was an old out of use ceramic kiln. Ya gotta remove the coils,and switches,install a new coil or coils,depending on the size (with the right amount of olms) and new switches.  Ya have to also have a mutimeter with a high temp probe,unless you are lucky enough to have a perometer.

I'll work on it.
