My very first bow!
« on: March 06, 2009, 12:51:52 am »
I was waiting for glue on my current bow and decided that I should make another bow while waiting. So I made this yesterday from some scraps of juniper i have from my other bow I'm making. Its about 16" long and pull nearly 10#! What do you all think?  :)

Very cute.  I think you're ready to go "grizzly mouse" hunting.  :)

Now just scale that effort up 3 or so times and you'll be set! :)

Cool little bow, Colt. Everyone should try these little bows. Same principal as the big ones but you can use scraps.    That bow pulling 10# should shoot a bamboo skewer quite a distance.

Very nice. Can I borrow it? I spotted a mouse in the garage yesterday. Plan to wrap the handle? Tip overlays would be cool, too. Then you have to make a tiny quiver, and fletch tiny bamboo skewer arrows. Then forge tiny arrowheads, and it never ends. :)

It shoots those little skewers surprisingly fast! I was shocked the first time I shot it. Sticks it to cardboard and everything  :P haha If you sharpened up the arrows it would easily stick a mouse.

very cool "little" bow 8)

but i think it needs to bend a liitle more in the fades and the outer limbs look a little stiff too.

but still very sweet
