how to remove shellac from bow blanks?

what would be the best way to remove the shellac from a bow blank without scraping? or sanding
if you can shoot over them , they ain't to far

Never tried it any other way,I always scrap it off ,being careful not to get into the wood. :)

thats the way I always do in but some beginners tend to scrape off to much,wondering if some type of paint remover would work?
if you can shoot over them , they ain't to far

Could try denatured alcohol or some diluted ammonia, those are what you use to clean your brush, but
don't know if it will work on dried shellac ???

I know acetone will take lacquer off with just a few wipes.

Yes, denatured alcohol. If not try a 50/50 with laquer thinner.

The carrier for shellac is alcohol. I use denatures alcohol to remove it from wood. If the bow isn't going to be dyed and finish will go right over the shellac.

Paint stripper...the type that says it will remove shellac (on the label). ;D

I use denatured alchohol and a stiff tooth brush :)
