First bow, finally....
« on: January 30, 2009, 02:23:54 am »
after the band-saw butchering, I reduced the tips 3" on both ends to make it 63" ntn, 1.5" at widest, and 3/4" by 5/16" thick at the tips. Handle is 1" and it pulls 52# @28" with less than an inch of follow.  Took some pics of the knot that makes it look like it's hinged and I haven't got the hemp string for the handle yet, but finally had access to a camera to get the pics so I figured I'd get it posted.  oh yah, 6 coats of true oil that I'll have to dull for hunting season ;D
Thanks to all for all the advice that made my first bow a success, and thanks to Ted at raptor archery for the excellent stave
