Hard Maple Stave
« on: January 05, 2009, 04:37:54 pm »
After seeing the great job Jesse S did on his hard maple bow I figured I had to have one. I,ve never worked with maple - do you use the first ring under the bark as you do in other white woods??  I have access to a few pieces of maple that are crying to be made into selfbows - Matt

Well thanks a lot you just made my day. :)
Yup what twistedlimbs said. The maple I had was a pleasure to work with.

Maple is good bow wood Matt. It under rated as far as I'm conserned, I like it much better than hickory.
Its November, I'm gone hunt'in.......
Osage is still better.....
