long distance target arrows
« on: December 30, 2008, 03:06:42 pm »
Hej all,

I'd like to present my new set of arrows.
They are made for long distance target practice.

Shaft is fir with ash foreshaft, 11/32 barrelled to 5/16. Feathers are turkey 5 1/2" long and about 15/32 high. Nocks are reenforced with horn.
Point weight is 70gn.
Overall length 29". I still have to weigth them.

The set consists of six. Hovever, there ate only five in the pics. One needed repair.

Nice arrows Radon. Will you show a pic of the footing and how it was spliced?    Pat

I agree with Eddie, very nice, and I too like the low style fletching.

Wow! Thank you for showing. Please, where did you get the fir? Were these fir dowels or did you start with a fir board? Thanks, Woodbutcher

... I just bought them at an archery store. Fir is a fairly common arrow wood over here.

Nice arrows Radon. Will you show a pic of the footing and how it was spliced?    Pat
...I'll post a photo a.s.a.p.

I weighted the arrows and thy average at 410gn.
