That is a beautiful bow!  I'm working on an osage bow right now myself.  I'm planning on cocobolo overlays too.  Good job.

Brownhillboy, I don't know if you have worked with cocabolo before but it is real oily. I have had a hard time getting a finish on it using poly even after wiping it down real good with acetone, but on this bow I used Tru Oil and it seemed to work great. I have a bowie knife in the works with a cocabolo handle and will try the Tru Oil on it also.

Okie, my comments were for the next one. Heck I seldom nail a tiller. He'll likely be shooting this bow for years.  I'm sure he will appreciate it and it was a kind gesture on your part. I'm sure I speak for Ryan our aim was not to put down your very fine bow so get rid of that frowny face in your last post. Jawge

I remember when I first started I'd show  a bow to my mentor and he'd tell me what I could have done better and where the bow needed to bend more (or less) and I'd be disappointed. But it was good that he did because he helped me a lot. Jawge

George I didn't take it that way. I knew you guys were trying to help. I was disappointed in myself not what you guys had said. I am very good at taking constructive critisiom, so don't let up. That's the only reason I put my bows on here is so you guys can help me grow and get better. I haven't even been building bows a year yet.
The frowny face was because the bow will probably hang on his wall because I don't think he hunts much. Thanks for the comments.

Ok, Okie. Same with my brother. He stopped shooting now and the bows I gave him are in his joists. But that's ok because I can't shoot all the bows I make anyway so I have plenty of  joists bows. Jawge
