That's awesome! I did a similar test last year on an old guava bow that didn't turn out so well (lots of set). I could pull it until the string pulled off the nocks, no damage at all. I ended up breaking it by setting the nock on the ground and putting my full weight on the bow. The limb tip bent almost too the handle before it finally broke. This bow never even had a finish on it, and had been left out in the rain overnight a few times. I think sometimes we underestimate the ability of wood to handle bending. Sorry yours didn't turn out the way you wanted it too. I really like the side profile.
