A little help
« on: August 30, 2020, 09:15:10 pm »
Only my second attempt at a self bow , this is a hickory board bow I’m attempting but can’t seem to get limbs to match . I may have a little hinge on the bottom limb but don’t know where to proceed. Help and suggestions appreciated! Thanks

Both limbs are stiff from mid limb to tip. The one on the right might be hinging right out of the fade. I would suggest you make a tillering gizmo and use it to get both limbs bending full length.

Don't touch the inner 1/3 of either limb. Get the mid and outer limbs moving.

I don't see a hinge but the right limbs is too stiff as well as the outer limbs

Looking more even, this is at 20 inches. Not sure where to go from here again I am quite a newbie this is only my second try.

Right limb looks better but you might want to be careful with the outer limb now.  Still a bit stiff in the outer left limb.

On the right side mid limb looks flat. Looks to be the beginning of a hinge on each side of it. Do not touch those areas that are bending. Left side looks flat on the outer two-thirds. Right out of the fade looks good and would not touch that
