Hedgehunter: Iīve done these bows in both ways; a couple from bows already in use and a couple from billets.

Marc: Agreed. TD with metal sleeves propably doesnīt meet modern ELB definition but this configuration (carriage bows) has been in use in England before 1900 and therefore meets IFAA criteria for Historic Bow Class. Perhaps we should call these ELB Stylish bows... and my bows in many cases donīt meet ELBīs width-to-depth-ratio (too flat)... but the spirit is there... Also the purists propably donīt want to see grassfiber (bamboo) as ELB backing either.

Like it!
Have two t/d sleeves and I try to see as much t/d before I give it another try.
Would love to see a pic where the arrow passes!
Guess the new owner will be very happy!
Thanks for sharing!

Terve Lehtis :)!
I got inspiration from this bow and will try to make something similar. What do You think about bamboo/cumaru/juniper combination? I have no lemonwood. Where did You get lemonwood from?

Hei, maitus!
I bought lemonwood from Exotic Hardwoods, United Kingdom (England).
I have no personal experience about juniper yet. One stave from Finnish forest waiting for conversion to selfbow some day. I think juniper could work OK if you don’t chase too high poundage.
