Also, if the pins were not for a patch I'd still go with a cleaning rod with the pins to hang on to cotton tow.

I'd tend to agree Eddie. It does seem like a cleaner for some type of bore. the pins seem really well spaced and also the amount they protrude seems very exact. Much more than would be needed for picking your nose.

I dont know about this but maby a ram rod? handle seems kinda big to be that though.
