Knot in handle?

Is it possible to make a bow with a knot on the back on the handle? Center of handle. Hackberry.

 I think it depends on the size of the knot, how it goes through the handle etc.    You need to post some pic's if possible, I guarantee you the guys here can help you.

Generally with a stiff handle you will be OK.  You might want to fill any voids with something. I like super glue and if the void is big enough I add saw dust as a filler. For a good size void I do this in stages to be sure the void is eliminated. To do this a put super glue in the hole then sprinkle sawdust in, let it dry and do it again...and again until the void is filled. For a large void you may want to add a wood plug.

I prefer thinner but everyone has their own opinions on this.
 If there are no voids I like to add super glue just because but especially if it's on the back too.

I'd rather the knot be in the middle of the handle than in the middle of the limb. 

I would rather one in the middle of the limb than in the edge of a fade out.

I never want one on the tip of the limb.

That knot doesn't appear it will be any problem at all.  Looks solid and if it's in the handle, it won't be bending anyway.  Go for it.0

I don't see any problem at all. 

Sometimes if the knot is adjustable, i.e. If you can adjust handle positions.  I have used a knot area as an arrow shelf.  I normally have to file it all out but the left over grain is beautiful!

If you have the length you can position the knot so that it hits your hand in a certain position. It makes it easier to hold the bow the same every shot.
