Now that's wild I've just finished a fumed mulberry bendy, too. Hope I find time to make some pics after christmas.

Your work is excellent, love it.
I've seen handle wraps like this somewhere ...

Thanks, can't wait to see yours!
Oh and you are absolutely right about the handle wrap O:)

Simple, but far from easy. Fine tips, nice details. Looks like a really smooth shooter.

Very nice bow, I love the colour, bend and finish on it and it looks like a fast shooter as well! how do you fume it with ammonia solution? Just apply it with a rag?

Cheers,

Phil

Really nice bow. Does ammonia fume affect to performances or properties of bow ?? or just changing color ?

Thanks Phil!
This "fuming" is done using the damps from the ammonia. I followed Simons advice on how to do this (I think he has a howto somewhere here or on his site) I use a large pvc pipe closed on one side, put the bow in and put this on top of a small cup of ammonia in the corner of my shop. Works really easy, just fumed a black locust recurve this week.

As far as I know it is only cosmetic. I always let the bow dry out a few days after fuming just in case. However, there is some weird stuff going on while fuming which I don't fully understand. I only sand to about 120 but when the bows come out of the fuming pipe they are extremely smooth, almost polished but without the gloss.

Wow.....62" lg. and 1 3/16" wide mulberry bow, pulling 28" ....good job!!.  what does the bow weight.  Real light in the hand?
That's a beauty.
