firing question
« on: August 13, 2017, 03:57:59 pm »
Hello All ,
This might sound like an obvious question to many people on here  , but why , when you see footage or photos of people actually firing their bows does it sometimes show the arrow resting to the left or right of the bow regardless of which hand they hold or fire the bow with ? Is it just down to preference or is there a practical reason why ?
Thanks

Either a thumb ring or someone who is just acting like they are shooting a bow. ;)  The practical reason is that the slight twist of the draw hand presses the arrow slightly towards the bow. That twist is reversed for the thumb draw. There are some exceptions to this but generally it is true.
