Heat treating non-bending parts

Is there any point in heat treating a non bending part like a static re-curve or Molle tips? Something in the back of my mind tells me that heat treating it would increase its strength and allow it to be smaller and lighter and still not bend.

This has been mentioned many times on here and it works the way you have mentioned. Stiffer per mass.

After I bend a recurve using localized steam,allowed to cool and sit for a spell,i lock them in by roasting with dry heat.other wise I suspect it would mostly pull out.
