Folding bow

Just finished this one.  Its about 37#  66"..  Shoots well.

You can figure that one out I'm sure...Build the bow tiller it trace out the hinge, countersink it, drill the 4 holes, then drill out for the threaded inserts and finally cut the BOW..!!!!.  The hinge is the fun part and easier than most think, its prepping the lams, gluing, tillering and sanding that is most painstaking.

Looks like the hinge is inletted in the back of the handle area to me

Countersunk, yes if thats what you mean.  The hinge is about 3/16" thick, the holes are tapered for the screw heads.

Maybe slightly more than a one piece,  I have to tune the handle area more. Other than that when the bow is braced and shot the tension stays.  The black part on the limb is felt, hopefully that looks after the after shock, if not I will use a heavier felt.  That was my major concern with this design.  Good call on that one  Pappy.

Very nice.  I know that some of the very old bows that were hinged get big bucks just for the hinge.

That would be great for back packing.
