200 yr old double barrel flintlock pistol restored
« on: January 26, 2016, 11:23:20 am »
To begin with, this gun had been "restored" on six different occasions, each time by a ham fisted amateur.  Ultimately, a team of gifted watchmakers for a brand of watches so expensive that, in all likelihood you have never even heard of them, took on the project and spent an entire year restoring this piece to working order.

It goes beyond mere mechanics.  It exceeds the definition of art. This is in a category all it's own....and I am sure the original makers aspired to that level.

Watch this video with the sound turned all the way up!

Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

That looks like the perfect pimp pistol.   A tad bit gaudy for my taste but cool none the less

How much bang for the buck? That thing is a laugh. It must have cost a fortune.
